June Currently, Rules – Who Needs Em and a Field Day Freebie
I’m linking up with Farley for the Currently this month, head on over to her blog, I’d love to know what you are Currently up to…
I’m still in school. Yep. 15 more days. I actually know how many teaching hours too. Bad I know!
And what always happens to me at the end of a school year is, of course, happening again. I start to completely abandon lighten up on the rules. Just slightly. I can’t help myself. Here are my reasons and I can defend each one.
1. I’ll never have this class again.
2. It’s REALLY hot in my room.
3. I LOVE my kids and want to have fun with them.
4. It’s HOT in my room!!!
So, the other day, we were in the middle of a Pout Pout Fish activity and I told my kids we were going to paint the fish right away. Their response: Well, what about our morning work? I told them we were skipping it today. Then, one of them said to me: You mean we are painting right now first thing in the morning? Me: Yes! I turned back to the board and I heard – I love you Miss. Music to my ears. And so we painted. With our shoes off, of course.
The Pout Pout Fish is such a sweet story and there is so much you can do with it. I’ve been using Deanna Jump’s unit cause she has such amazing and easy ideas.
This is my Pout Pout desk
Since I do only have 15 days left, here is my Field Day Freebie. You can use it before the Field Day or after. Even if you don’t have a Field Day, you can still use it. Just click on the pic.

My kids love Pout Pout Fish too. We kind of broke the rules and did math stations first the other day! The kids were so excited.

I love lightening up on the routine at this part of the year! I think everybody needs it — the kids and me. Sorry to hear your room is so hot. Maybe a popsicle treat is in order!

12 days left:). We're in the same boat here in BC.
I've also been slacking off a bit … So much more relaxing that way!
